Every June we celebrate 2STLGBQ+ pride! Why June? It commemorates the Stonewall Riots on June 28, 1969, when the Stonewall bar was raided by police. Tired of this harassment, folks, led by Black trans and queer people, pushed back. This event grew into a wider movement for 2STLGBQ+ rights.
For the second row in a year, the pandemic is shifting how pride looks. In Winnipeg, events are pushed back to September, but lots of places are doing online celebrations. Even if we can’t be together, we can still celebrate the beauty and diversity of human sexuality!
Love is love! Be Who You are!
