Pink Shirt Day

0

February 27, 2019 is Pink Shirt Day! The goal of the day is to bring awareness to the issues of bullying and it’s impact. Pink Shirt Day began when two Nova Scotia high school students took a stand against bullying and asked all of their peers to wear pink to school after a male classmate had been bullied for wearing a pink shirt. This year’s theme is Be Someone’s Hero. We all have the capacity to be kind and compassionate. We can learn to appreciate and celebrate our diversity. Promoting respect and kindness, and  standing up to bullying is heroic.

How can you take part?

  • Wear pink on February 27, 2019
  • Organize an event in your school or community
  • Remember, when you stand up to bullying, you can #BeSomeonesHero
