This year, Human Rights Day calls on everyone to stand up for someone’s rights. Human Rights Day is observed every year on 10 December. It commemorates the day on which, in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It also closes the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. The 16 days started on November 25 with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and includes December 6 National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
Part of standing up for rights includes youth rights. Everyone has the right to make choices and express their sexuality in a way that makes sense to them.
Here are just some of the rights youth have when it comes to sexuality, reproduction, and dating in Canada.
