Communication

Three Types of Communication /Gender Roles & Communication / What can you do? / FAQ

Communication basically means people sending and receiving messages to each other. There are many different ways people send and receive messages. Here are just a few:

  • Talking Face to Face
  • Texting
  • Emails
  • Instant Messaging (MSN, facebook, etc.)
  • Phone
  • Regular Mail

Did you know? 93% of what you communicate is your facial expression, the tone of voice you’re using, as well as your body language. That means the words you say make up only 7% of the message you are a sending which means it’s not so much what you say that matters, but more how you’re saying it.

Communicating through emails, texts and instant messaging cuts out that whole 93% of communication. So it can lead to misunderstandings which can lead to problems! Using emoticons like smiley faces J or “quotations” can help make clear what you are really trying to say.
