Body Image

What’s body image? We’ll give you a hint: everyone has one! It’s how you feel about your body, NOT how it actually looks. Sadly experts say that about 8 out of 10 Canadians have a negative body image meaning they feel badly about their bodies.

It can be hard to love our bodies due to the messages from the media that sell us the idea that we’re not okay the way we are. Sometimes these messages come from other places as well: our peers, our coaches, and sometimes even our doctors.

Despite all the messages we receive, its important to remember that we are supposed to feel good about ourselves! Everyone deserves to feel as healthy and beautiful as we all truly are.

We should all have a healthy body image no matter what size and shape our bodies may be!
