Abstinence / Birth Control Information / Emergency Contraceptive Pill (ECP) / What can I say if my partner doesn’t want to use a condom? / FAQ
Birth control is used to stop pregnancy from happening. There are lots of different types of birth control: abstinence, condoms, the pill, the patch (Ortho Evra), the needle (Depo Provera), and the ring (NuvaRing). See birth control information for more details.
We have a whole page just for condoms. Check it out!
Birth control is both people’s responsibility, but the reality is that guys can only use condoms or abstinence. So, how can two people share the responsibility of birth control?
- Both chipping in for birth control, if it costs money. Condoms are free at Teen
Clinics. - The girl using a hormonal method (eg. pill/patch/needle/ring) and the guy using condoms.
- Sharing information with each other about birth control.
- Going with each other to pick up the birth control and condoms.
- The guy reminding the girl to take her hormonal method (if she’s using one).
